The International Association of Experts on Earthquake Engineering (IAEEE) announces the preparation start for the III International Scientific and Practical Conference on Earthquake Engineering dedicated to the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development (Conference website iсee.kg).

At the initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the Plenary meeting resolution of the UN General Assembly 76th session, 2022 was declared as the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development.

This conference will be held in a hybrid form (online and offline) in Bishkek city and Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan from July 4 to 9, 2022.

Prof. Ivan Vedyakov is a recognized specialist in the development of building codes and regulations, design methods and calculations, inspection and strengthening of building metal structures, metallurgy and welding.
He developed new methods for calculating and analysis of steel bending elements and columns, principles for assessing the structural strength of rolled products, taking into account the material structure, based on analysis of the steel hardening mechanisms.
The ways of simultaneous increase in strength and resistance to brittle fracture of rolled products and structural elements, physical and technological methods for increasing the crack resistance of rolled steel, the physical foundations for the transition of steel structural elements from a ductile to a brittle state.
Fundamentally, new steels have been developed and applied in building structures.

He has been funded by Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) under cooperation Aga-Khan Development Network (AKDN) for Site Effect study of Naryn town. In addition to being co-investigator on numerous major research initiatives through the years examples of the varied research where he has been Principal Investigator (PI).
